For our next piece of work, we are required to create a book trailer to promote Craig Taylor’s ‘Londoners: The Days and Nights of London as Told by Those Who Love It, Hate It, Live It, Long for It, Have Left It and Everything Inbetween’. We have been divided into groups of 2 or 3 to work together on this brief, each group was assigned one of the stories from the book to promote.
Our films should be shot in 16:9 1920 x 1080 mp4 h264 codec and host it on YouTube.
My group consisted of myself, Sophie Winter and Jade Davis. We were assigned a story about a squatter named Nick Stephens. His story of London was based around the places he settled and issues that came with squatting itself, not issues to do with London in particular. The story didn’t really have a plot or narrative which made it hard to take inspiration and ideas from it.
We eventually thought about filming in first person as the story is being told from the point of view of one man, in the style of the 2016 action film Hardcore Henry.
To test out the GoPro we will visit London to look around the location, to determine what would look best to shoot.
